Rehema Ability works alongside families and caregivers raising children with disabilities — providing practical support, skills, and community so no family navigates this alone.
Many families raising deaf and hard-of-hearing children cannot fully communicate with their own children — not because there is no love, but because they do not share a language.
The result can leave children feeling isolated and parents feeling helpless. Fracturing families from the inside.
Rehema Ability exists to change that.
Our Kenyan Sign Language training for parents and caregivers of deaf children transforms families. When a parent can speak their child's language, everything shifts.

Practical, welcoming group sessions designed for parents and caregivers. Our sessions are more than language classes — they are a safe space where families find community, encouragement, and real support.
Parents leave confident and better equipped to support their child's independence. They are great fun too.
From sign language to life and vocational skills — practical tools for parents, caregivers, and young people. Independence is possible.
Professional support for mental wellbeing and emotional resilience. Caregivers need care too.
Connection with families who truly understand — shared experiences and solidarity. No one should do this alone.
Shifting how disability is understood in families, schools, and communities. Every child deserves to belong.
Rehema Ability is a registered community-based organisation born from decades of working with children with disabilities and their families. We saw children with great potential. We saw parents doing their level best. Yet the same needs kept surfacing — often with nowhere to turn.
So we decided to do something about it.
Today, we bring together experience in deaf education, sign language interpretation, psychology, research, and school leadership to support families and create opportunities for children to thrive.
